Concrete SuperGun
The highly anticipated Concrete SuperGun has arrived and is quickly becoming one of Atlanta's most promising and notable hard rock acts. Releasing their monumental debut single "Valhalla" on March 1st 2022 and following it up with the massive hit "Why Can't I" one month later, this group is exploding with potential. Inflamed by the euphonious roar of Reiner Slay (Vocals), the searing leads of Tyler Phelps (Guitar), the meteoric pulse of "Wild" Billy Claypool (Drums), and the thunderous fingerings of Taylor Nelson (Bass), CSG is causing a legitimate brouhaha around the southeast.
"Why Can't I"
Lyrics: Reiner SLay
Complications in my head and then
you changed my life with everything you said.
When I close my eyes I see
you're standing right in front of me.
I'm thinking.
Why can't I
See that I can fly?
Standing on the ground thinking I can't leave but I
want to fly in the end.
Staring back into myself again.
I can feel the lies just spinning in my head.
When I close my eyes to see.
The truth is right in front of me.
I'm thinking.
Why can't I
see that I can fly?
Standing on the ground knowing I can leave and I'm
going to fly in the end.
And I said
Woah ohh ohhh
One more step and I'm away.
I'm away.
I'm thinking
Why can't I
see that I can fly?
Standing on the ground knowing I can leave and I'm
going to fly in the end.
And I said
Woah ohh ohhh
Nothing left of you today
Woah ohh ohhh
One more step and I'm away.
'Cause I'm away.
'Cause I'm away.
'Cause I'm away.
'Cause I'm away.
"Valhalla"
Lyrics: Reiner Slay
Lying on the ground cradled in the fallen snow I've fought for so long never dreamed of letting go
Then you open your eye And show me inside And I feel so alive
After life
Standing, waiting at the edge of the abyss Capitulating, is there any more to this?
Then you open your eye And show me inside And I feel so alive
After life
Take me up where the few are chosen I want to stand under Golden Skies
I want to hear that my life has spoken Rolling thunder, rolling thunder
Take me up where the few are chosen I wanna go if I have to die
Take me away, take me away now Take me away
Afterlife
Dark Wings descend thought and memory my friends Waiting for the End waiting to begin
Afterlife
Dark wings descend Waiting for the end
I open my eyes
I reach for the light inside
Take me up where the few are chosen I want to stand under Golden Skies
I want to hear that my life has spoken Rolling thunder, rolling thunder
Take me up where the few are chosen I wanna go if I have to die
Take me away, take me away now Take me away
Afterlife
From the ashes of one of Atlanta's most beloved rock outfits...
In the year twenty-thousand and sixteen, three finely tuned musicians suddenly found themselves awake, down on their luck, and drifting further from the way things used to be. At a time when weaker men would quiver with fear or run and hide, this determined trio wasn't willing to just give it all away.
And so they continued into the darkness that was to be a long road ahead...
Along the journey the triumvirate caught wind of an ancient tale once told to young maidens in order to provoke fertility. It spoke of a fourth element that, once found, could be used to square the triad forming a cohesion so powerful it would set in motion the banging of one's head for the remainder of eternity. The thought of the power alone is enough to fuel the darkest of nightmares.
They could feel it in their bones that this mythical missing piece was indeed somewhere out there. The search was long. The quest was arduous, but the diligent group remained steadfast.
It was in the deepest recesses within the Lists of Graig where the lost cornerstone was found. The legend was true. The coherence was instantaneous. The power ignited was so Earth-shattering that the effects were felt on all sides of the globe. So much so that an Australian metal band hit the newly invigorated tetrad with a cease-and-desist letter forcing them into a name change.
